I’ll always have Paris
The SpringSummer shows didn’t deliver anything mindblowing until Paris. A city a girl can always count on. There was so much beauty that I don’t even know where to begin.
Haider Ackermann
Ann Demeulemeester
Dries Van Noten. The one fashionhouse that came up with beautiful prints this season. Note the shoes also!
Chloe. One nice shirt in the middle of a lot of blaaaah…
Lanvin. Sadly there was no “red maxidress on Karlie Kloss” this time for me but I do like the American Eagle-ish jewelry.
Maison Martin Margiela. Insane as always but actually wearable this time.
Isabel Marant. Immensely intrigued by this knitting technique.
Balmain. Decranin may be gone but the Balmain DNA is still very much present. This collection definitely ranks higher than the safety pin catastrophe of last spring.
Gareth Pugh. If Alexander McQueen and Rick Owens would’ve had a lovechild, Gareth would be him. He has Ricks neo-goth edge with McQueens theatrics.
Dior. Love the orange leather pieces. But Dior is gonna need a new Creative Director ASAP because they can’t keep on delivering these collections that lack concept.
Giambattista Valli.
Celine. Again, thank you Phoebe Philo for guaranteeing that leather isn’t going anywhere anytime soon. The shoes from head-on also look like a lovely new shape but then the profile of the chunky heel ruins it for me.
Paco Rabanne. A name I never imagined having to type here. But these dresses are special enough.
Rick Owens. Right now this collection is his St. Anger for me, if anyone gets the Metallica comparison.
Alexander McQueen.
Kanye West. It actually happened – a Kanye West fashion show. He seems to be sincere in his intentions of becoming a serious designer and I consider this to be a solid start. Ok, the shoes I don’t get, but the zipper dresses are smart and of course I’m dying for the fox backpack.
Definitely saved the best for last. Givenchy. Seeing this collection for the first time turned into a ridiculously emotional moment. This perfection was almost too much to bare. The color scheme, the accessories, the shoes, the cuts, the layers, the leather trimmings. Oh my god. Riccardo Tisci – I want to lick your brain and die in your clothes!!!
The devil is in the details

All hail minimalism, first stop: Jewelry
Fashion is ever-evolving and at the moment we are slowly but surely on a course to minimalism. Personally, I’m still rockchić at heart but clean lines are starting to grow on me. I know that I’ll be having a hard time this spring with the Jil Sander colorblocking and the Topshop nightmare of a mess but I’ve decided to take on the challenge and do it my own way.
In the last few seasons I’ve acquired quite a big box of various bulky rings and bangles, but truth be told, I’ve grown a bit weary of trying to figure out which ones to put on every morning. I’d say, it’s time to invest in some quality pieces and stick to them for a while. Tiffany’s or Elizabeth & James, perhaps.
Statement necklaces are still a go, but they too should be less cluttered and more structured with bare metals and a tribal feeling, like Lanvin SS 2011.

Also, Céline and Maison Martin Margiela have managed to strip it down completely and leave us only with clean gold/silver cuffs for arms and neck both.
There are days when only fashion can make you feel better
I could drown into this MaxMara camel coat. Looks stunning.
Sometimes, a great piece of jewelry is all you need to year.
Really fierce Giuseppe Zanotti sandals. Robust and sexy at the same time.
Maison Martin Margiela. Oh I’d get cuffed with this any time.
Ache for this Burberry Prorsum dress is killing me.
I WANT! Killer boots too!
Dior Couture Libertine shoe. Still loving the spiral heel. I’m just in awe…
Now, If only I could feel as hot as Dita,
watch some old episodes of Sex and the City,
have some cupcakes and
wash it down with Moet,
this day could end on a good note.
Tough luck.
All eyes on Paris
Can’t imagine how much that Balmain jacket weighs…
Killer pants.
LOVE your corset Anja!
Great sleeves on the blazer.
Amazing what things have become socially acceptable
Never would have thought. This and all above are Balmain.
